YOUTH RUNNERS BOOST AT MARKINCH PLUS ENTRY DETAILS writes Shane Fenton

 

Competitors who would normally enter for Markinch Games at Blackford Games the week before should note  that won't be the case this year with Blackford being the day before Markinch.

Blackford is always the last Saturday in May which is the 31st with Markinch the first Sunday in June which is the 1st, this only happens once every 6 years or so.

This year with both the Games being the same weekend entries for both will close on Sunday 25th May.

 

There is also a boost for Youth runers at Markinch this year, due to new sponsorship the Games will now stage seperate Invitation 90 metres races for Boys and Girls bringing the total number of Youth races to seven, 90m 200m, 400m, 800m and 1600m plus the two new Invitation events.
