FIRST HIGHLAND GAMES CASUALITY DUE TO CORONAVIRUS - CUPAR H.G. CANCELLED 2020

CANCELLATION
CUPAR HIGHLAND GAMES

Following on from the advice issued by HM Government, it is with regret that the Committee of Cupar Highland Games have decided to cancel the Games due to take place on Sunday 21st June, 2020.
This is extremely regrettable and is entirely due to the current outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus).
It is highly probable that UK limits on gatherings will still be in operation but, even if these were to be somewhat relaxed, we would still face the possibility of infection being spread amongst spectators and competitors.
To hold the event as scheduled could have resulted in a significant financial loss as our main group of visitors are from overseas and it is very likely that travel restrictions will still be in force.
We would like to thank all those sponsors who have already supported the Highland Games and our Secretary, Rosemary, will be in touch with you all this coming week.

Stay safe and we hope to see you all in 2021.
