Randalls - Colthart - Davidson excel in Grampian

2015 provided some excellent competition in the Grampian Games Association Glenfiddich Championships.

Kyle Randalls,Grangemouth ruled supreme in the 18-25 Championship, emerging the overall winner at all 12 venues during the season. Randalls now one of the leading hammer throwers on the circuit also held his own in the Open competition for his specialist event breaking many ground records in the process.

Lorne Colthart,Blair Atholl has had a great season and clinched the coveted Glenfiddich title ahaed of Craig Sinclair, Lukasz Wenta and Scott Rider. Lorne also took the season long SHGA  Championship for the first time as well as the Perthshire Association title.

The Grampian Light Field Events Championship was won for an unprecedented 10th time by great all-rounder Fraser Davidson,Torphins. It was not unusual for the Banchory/Stonehaven athlete to contest 10 events in an afternoon, then do the same the next day, depending on whetether it was a games he could compete in both the Open and local events. He excelled at High Jump,Long Jump,Triple Jump,Pole Vault, 100m,200m,400m and 800m.

The climax to the 725kgs Tug o War Championship couldn't have been closer with Mount Blair taking the title by 1 point from Cornhill, the latter gained some consolation by landing the 480kgs championship.
