Lorne set for SHGA debut writes Shane Fenton

Lorne[Oban] Highland Games stage their event for the first time under SHGA rules this Sunday. For the athletes open and junior there is a good programme of running, jumping and throwing as well as a hill race, some events have a seperate competition for females only. All events have prize money down to six places.

For the Youth's there is handicaps over 90m, 200m and 1600m, with seperate hill races for boys and girls 14-15 years.

The Open competitors have races over 90m,200m,400m, 800m and 1600m as well as seperate male and female hill races.

There is also Open High Jump, Long Jump and Triple Jump competitions with total prize money of £400.

The throwers will have their usual seven disciplines, there is also a confined programme for both male and female throwers.
